The Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Support Program is excited to announce the launch of the Kingsway Learning Center’s Community-Based Instruction (CBI) program at Cooper University Health Care. This initiative marks a significant step forward in Cooper’s commitment to make meaningful connections with people in our community who have intellectual disabilities.
Kingsway Learning Center’s (KLC) CBI program is designed to offer students an enriching environment where they can learn and grow with the support of dedicated coaches. These coaches will work directly with the students to build essential life skills that will empower them to navigate real-world situations with greater independence and confidence. KLC High School students will engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences at Cooper University Hospital in Camden in the role of greeters and café support as well as performing administrative tasks supporting MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in Moorestown and Voorhees. The experiences will let students gain valuable insights and abilities that are crucial for their personal development and future success.
This collaboration with Kingsway Learning Center is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering inclusivity and providing people with the tools they need to thrive. We are confident that this program will have a profound impact at Cooper, and we look forward to seeing the positive outcomes that will emerge from this partnership. Please help us welcome the Kingsway Learning Center students and their job coaches!
