Open Enrollment and Health Benefits Update

Please note that team members on the Cape benefits plan will receive a separate communication about their open enrollment process.

We have great news for team members who are currently on Cooper University Health Care’s benefits plan. For the second year in a row, there will be no cost increase to team members for their Cooper health benefits, which is unique for large health care organizations. Only team members who move into a higher tier due to a promotion or salary increase will see an increase in health benefits contributions in 2025.

It’s your hard work and diligence that enable us to continually grow and reinvest in our team. That’s why we are again fortunate to be in a position that allows Cooper to absorb this year’s health benefit cost increases and not pass those increases along to you.

Last year, Cooper transitioned its health benefits to the state’s largest health insurer, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. In 2025, Cooper team members will continue to have access to Horizon’s large network of physicians and providers. Health benefits are complicated. We know there were and may continue to be difficulties in the transition. We thank you for your patience and anticipate that we can work out any and all challenges.

We have resources to help you with your benefits-related questions. You can always email Cooper’s HR Benefits team here. Cooper also has a Member Advocacy Center to assist team members with health benefit claims or any benefits-related issues. The Member Advocacy Center is managed by our insurance consultant and can be reached at 800.563.9929 or via their website here.

Please look for additional benefits and open enrollment-related information in the coming weeks. Thank you for all you do for our patients, visitors, and each other.
