Cooper’s Periop 101 Core Curriculum is a seven-month perioperative nurse education program for registered nurses entering the perioperative specialty in the operating room. The program fully prepares nurses with consistent, current information in the classroom and online, and provides clinical experience in the sim lab and operating room to reinforce what they’ve learned. Along with teaching nurses the scrub and circulating roles in the operating room, the program also stresses the importance of the interdisciplinary teamwork required for each patient to have positive outcomes.
Congratulations to the graduates of the most recent Periop 101 Core Curriculum program: Judy Castillo-Sanchez, Melissa Cunningham, Amanda Mayer, Kenneth Pryor, Nhi Quach, Nicholas Tkacz, Demi Vervelakis, and Deborah Whiteman.
