This February, we are celebrating our fourth annual Random Acts of Kindness initiative. Did you know there are scientifically proven benefits of being kind? Kindness can decrease stress, anxiety, pain – even lower our blood pressure.
Wondering how to participate? It’s easy!
- Pulse+ Activities: Check out Pulse+ for daily kindness inspiration and to join our Kindness Bingo Challenge. Don’t forget to share your successes on Pulse+!
- Kindness Coins: Check out the C.A.R.E team’s page here for ideas and to request a small bag of three to five kindness coins, which can be distributed to fellow team members.
Kindness coins are a tangible symbol of acknowledgement and appreciation. The receiver of a coin can either keep it (some coins have holes and team members have clipped them behind their badges) or, ideally, pass it along to the next individual they encounter engaging in a random act of kindness. The coins are intended to spread kindness by inspiring additional kind acts. The coins say, “Pass it on!” and have phrases like:
- Thank you for everything. Token of appreciation.
- You made me smile.
- Thank you for your kindness. You took the time to show you care.
- Kind: caring, thoughtful, bright, generous … That’s you!
Note: The coins do not have any monetary value.
