CMSRU Celebrates Match Day

On Friday, March 21, 2025, at the stroke of noon, fourth-year students at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) gathered to celebrate an important milestone alongside thousands of medical students across the nation. As part of the National Residency Match Program, they discovered the next chapter in their journey toward becoming practicing physicians—their official residency “match.”

Match Day is a rite of passage for graduating medical students, marking the transition to a three-to-seven-year residency program where they will gain invaluable, hands-on training in their chosen specialty.

CMSRU students shared this momentous occasion at the Collingswood Ballroom, surrounded by the enthusiastic support of loved ones, fellow students, deans, and faculty. Together, they embraced the excitement and anticipation of this pivotal moment in their careers.

With a 100% match rate, CMSRU is well above the national match rate average. CMSRU students were offered residency positions at some of the nation’s most prestigious and competitive programs. For the full list of residency matches, click here.

This year’s Match Day was the largest in CMSRU’s history, with 111 students seeking residency positions. Of those students:

  • 51% will be entering primary care residencies, including internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.
  • 49% will be entering a variety of specialty residency programs.
  • 41% will remain in New Jersey to complete their training, including 23 students who matched at Cooper.

We also want to sincerely thank the faculty, current fellows, and residents for their contributions in teaching, mentoring, and supporting these students throughout the recruitment process.

Congratulations to the CMSRU Class of 2025!
