Last week, Cooper took part in MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper’s heart health event. Rachel Adams, APN, from the Urban Health Institute delivered an informative presentation on heart health, highlighting key risk factors for heart disease and cancer while sharing strategies for improving cardiovascular wellness.
Rutgers Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program Education (SNAP-Ed) staff conducted a food demonstration and guided participants through light physical activity. Additionally, oral and skin cancer screenings were available, along with blood pressure checks and stroke prevention assessments provided by the Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience. This event featured numerous vendors offering health resources and giveaways, making it a valuable initiative for the community in recognition of American Heart Month, which concluded in February.
