LAST CHANCE: Vote for Cooper’s Q1 Good Catch Winners

A “Good Catch” is a potential error that never reaches the patient because of identification by a team member. These events can also be referred to as a near miss, and they are often the key to identifying system and process issues before errors have a chance to harm a patient, visitor, or team member.

Below are the nominees for this year’s Q1 Good Catch:

  • Christopher (Chris) Kaighn, RN, a staff nurse in interventional radiology, used the Validate and Verify error prevention tool to prevent an incorrect procedure. Click here to hear the story.
  • Eti Muharremi, MD, a neurology resident, used the Stop-the-Line error prevention tool. By intervening before medication administration, he prevented the potential for serious harm. Click here to hear the story.
  • Kimberly (Kim) Saunders, a medical assistant in obstetrics and gynecology at Moorestown, used the STAR error prevention tool to prevent potential patient harm. Click here to hear the story.
