College Scholarship Opportunity Available to a New Jersey Student

The Bouras Scholarship provides college scholarships to New Jersey high school graduates and graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning within the United States during the 2014-2015 academic year. The award will be given to a student whose character, work-ethic, service and leadership qualities are deemed worthy of the opportunity to attend college.

The Community Foundation of New Jersey awards undergraduate scholarships on the basis of a competitive process that may consider academic achievement, extracurricular and community involvement, a statement of the applicant’s personal aspirations and educational goals, and references. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees based on scholarship committee recommendations.

Further applicant eligibility requirements include:
• Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America – proof of citizenship is required.
• Applicant must be enrolled on a full-time basis and pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• The children of and current members of the military, Christian clergy, a veteran, a member of law enforcement, a nurse or other allied healthcare provider may apply.
• Applicant must be actively involved in his/her church and its programs and community service and has demonstrated leadership.
