Camden Two-Day Diabetes Awareness Event

November is National Diabetes Month

• Diabetes currently affects more than 26 million Americans.
• 35 percent of adults over 20 years of age have prediabetes.
• 50 percent of those over 65 years of age are at risk.
• Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death with more than 230,000 people dying each year.

In light of these startling statistics, the Camden Coalition of Health Care Providers, Rutgers Cooperative Extension and Camden County will be holding a two-day Diabetes Awareness event on October 31 and November 1 that will put a spotlight on raising awareness of diabetes and prediabetes in the Camden city community as well as highlighting the services available.

The Diabetes Educators of Camden are hosting a conference focusing on Diabetes and Behavior Change. This conference is FREE. Nurses, Social Workers and Registered Dietitians can receive three CEU’s and FREE parking. The conference will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014.
