Congratulations to Daisy Award Winner Dana Carpenter!

Dana Carpenter, RN on K3 Critical Care Unit, was The Daisy Award winner for June 2021. Her dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provided to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolades:

“Dana Carpenter has gone above and beyond to care for COVID-19 patients and being the missing gap between patients/families during the surge along with being the biggest asset to the opening of the neuroscience unit. Dana has been with Cooper in critical care for almost eight years. Dana has always provided extraordinary care for her patients. Dana has also aided the leadership team in the NSU to be the primary preceptor for the new graduates and new critical care nurses; assumes the charge nurse role; and is the primary resource on the floor for the new nurses to go to for questions/advice. Dana has made such a special impact on her patients and their families. Dana took care of an oncology patient last week, where she gave the patient a decorative cap and the patient’s eyes and her husband’s lit up like Christmas. Dana always goes the extra mile to ensure her work family and patients are taken care of.”

We congratulate and thank Dana Carpenter on her DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation, is an international program that celebrates the extraordinary care given by nurses every day. It is presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Anyone—patients, families, and professional colleagues—may nominate a Cooper nurse for The DAISY Award.
