Kelsey Devoy, RN, an overnight nurse, is the Daisy Award winner for September 2021.
Her dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provided to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolades:
“While my daughter was at Cooper after a horrific car accident she felt alone and isolated – especially with COVID restrictions. Kelsey was her nurse for a couple days. During these days, Kelsey did more than just the “medical stuff.” She listen to my daughter, she offered her advice on how to overcome her new “body image.” She continued to empathize with my daughter and remind her of her own strengths. I was worried about my daughter sprits and emotions while being in the hospital and my daughter still to this day hears Kelsey words of advice and encouragement to get through the new challenges she faces since her injury. I cannot thank her enough for the support she stepped in and gave my daughter. As a mother who could not be there to care for her 24/7 I owe everything to Kelsey for stepping into that role and showing my daughter both compassion and tough love needed to instill the strength she continues to carry with her today.
