Cooper has partnered with Mamava, an expert in lactation space design, to offer breastfeeding team members and guests a sanitary, private, and comfortable lactation pod for pumping or nursing.
The pods are located in the E&R Building (on the second floor in the corridor directly in front of the elevators) and the Sheridan Pavilion (in the fourth floor corridor leading to Suite 400). To access the pod, team members and visitors can download the free Mamava app, which opens the pods via Bluetooth with a press of a button. The app also shows pod availability and occupancy status, and offers vacancy alerts. The free app is available on the IOS App Store or Google Play. If you are unable to use app, please call Cooper’s Maintenance Department for access to the pod.
Some key features of the pods include:
- Easy access: The Mamava app unlocks the pod with the touch of a button—no need to ask for a key.
- Total privacy: Once inside, parents can deadbolt the door for peace of mind. Others who need the pod can sign up for vacancy alerts in the Mamava app so they know when the pod is free.
- Designed for pumping: The pod has a comfortable bench, outlets, a USB port, and a shelf for a breast pump. Parents can dim the lights and adjust the pod’s air flow with the Mamava app. The pod’s easy-to-clean, food-grade surfaces provide a sanitary space to make milk.
- Breastfeeding support and tips: Breastfeeding parents can read and leave notes for others in the app, as well as find helpful resources and tips.
The pods are intended only for breastfeeding and pumping, not changing diapers, charging a cell phone, or anything else. If you or a guest notice someone misusing the pod, please contact Cooper’s Maintenance Department.
While we encourage our team members and visitors to breastfeed or pump wherever they are most comfortable, we look forward to providing the lactation pods as an option.
