Congratulations to Cooper’s Structural Heart team, part of Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care, which continues to be a regional leader in MitraClipTM procedures, having performed more than any hospital in the region. The MitraClip is a catheter-based technology that uses a small clip attached to the mitral valve to treat degenerative mitral valve regurgitation. This device allows the mitral valve to close more completely, helping to restore normal blood flow. This can be an option for patients who are not good candidates for surgery. Cooper leads the region with MitraClip along with many other options to treat heart disease, such as WATCHMAN and TAVR. The Structural Heart team is led by Drs. Sajjad Sabir and Loheetha Ragupathi.
