World Stroke Day

World Stroke Day is October 29.

When someone has a stroke, every second is crucial. As brain tissue and millions of neurons begin to fade away, time is of the essence. Cooper University Health Care’s stroke experts offer the latest in technology to save critical time when treating stroke.

Cooper is the first system in the nation to offer a dedicated Acute Stroke and Neuro Interventional Suite within our Emergency Department (ED). The suite is equipped with the latest generation Siemens biplane angiography system with an integrated CT scanner and fully integrated surgical image guidance, which allow our team to treat stoke patients immediately and avoid unnecessary wait time within the hospital. Patients who visit the ED with stroke symptoms are evaluated and treated immediately upon entering the hospital. This advancement helps save precious brain tissue during a stroke and leads to better patient outcomes and shorter recovery times.
