Congratulations to the Cooper Heart team and the entire Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care team. On Friday, May 5, 2023, the teams implanted the first-in-the-region Abbott Navitor™ transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) system to treat people with severe aortic stenosis who are at high or extreme risk for open-heart surgery. Janah Aji, MD, FACC, Interventional Cardiologist and Director of the Cooper Cardiac Catheterization Lab, led the team that implanted Abbott’s latest-generation TAVI system.

Abbott’s interest in Cooper’s transcatheter valve repair/implantation (TAVR/I) program reflects Cooper’s extensive experience since the commercial release of the first TAVR devices in 2012.

The entire Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care team continues to lead in innovation contributing to the health of our patients and the communities we serve.
