We are aware that there have been several text-based phishing attempts – called Vishing – at Cooper. Vishing normally appears as a text with the name of someone you know, but with a different telephone number. For example, you receive a text from a family member, colleague, or friend, but you do not recognize the phone number.
Often the vishing text is from someone you might not normally be contacted by text. A number of our team members have received texts from people posing as Cooper leaders.
Use caution when you receive such texts. Do not reply to the text or call the number. Instead, email or call the individual named in the text at the telephone number you have for that person to verify if they sent the text.
