Join Sidekicks at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and Cooper University Health Care’s Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology for their annual Sickle Cell Awareness Walk on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon.
September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, which helps focus attention on the need for research and treatment of sickle cell disease, an inherited condition that currently affects approximately 70,000 to 100,000 Americans.
The walk will begin at the CMSRU entrance at 401 South Broadway in Camden. The team will walk around the hospital and the CMSRU campus, bringing together medical students, hospital clinicians, and team members, as well as patients and their families to support those affected by sickle cell disorder. Refreshments will be provided.
