National Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15 marked the official start of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through October 15, 2023. This special month celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

To celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Cooper Court Cafeteria will feature a special menu every Wednesday this month. Click here for this week’s menu.

We will feature educational facts and biographies of Hispanic/Latino icons on Pulse+, and you can also test your knowledge by answering our Pulse+ quiz questions. Those who answer the questions correctly will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

This year’s National Hispanic Heritage Month activities are brought to you by Latinos Unidos, Cooper’s newest team resource group (TRG). Latinos Unidos is made up of over 25 Hispanic/Latino Cooper team members whose goal is to develop a diverse network and promote the cultural diversity and professional development of its members, thereby creating a supportive environment for the Hispanic/Latino community and contributing to the success of Cooper’s mission.

TRGs are employer-recognized workplace groups voluntarily led by team members. These groups allow team members with commonalities to meet, support each other, and produce a particular outcome that can help improve recruitment, retention, and job satisfaction. If you are interested in joining Latinos Unidos or other Cooper TRGs, please contact Francess Bowen-Metzger.
