Mail Order Prescriptions: New Account Set Up

Effective January 1, 2024, Prime Therapeutics is administering pharmacy benefits for Cooper team members enrolled in the Horizon health plan.

Though we are transitioning to Prime Therapeutics, your mail order prescriptions will continue to be filled through Express Scripts (ESI). If you have mail order refills through ESI, you may have experienced some issues over the past week due to a technical issue with the transition that ESI resolved last weekend.

If you currently have mail order prescriptions with refills, you will receive an email with directions on setting up your new account with ESI (see FAQs below).

For those team members needing an immediate refill (and who still have refills available on your prescription), please log into your ESI account to order your refill or call ESI directly at the number below. If you do not have refills available, please contact your provider to submit a refill.

  • The ESI contact number: 833.715.0971 (this number is specific to team members with a Cooper health plan).
    • Press 1 for refills.
  • ESI will ask the member for the member ID number on their Horizon ID card.
    • If that’s not available, provide your first name, last name, date of birth, and zip code.

  • What do I need to do to finalize my new ESI account? You will receive an email from ESI. Please click on the link in that email and follow the steps below:

  • How long is the link in the email active? The link is active for 48 hours. The email is sent once the profile is created within the ESI system.
  • What if I have mail order prescriptions with refills and I didn’t receive an email from ESI to complete the setup of my online account? You should reach out to the ESI contact center team at 833.715.0971. This number is for team members with Cooper health benefits. One of ESI’s agents will be able to confirm if they have your correct email on file.
  • What if the link expired before I could register? ESI contact center agents can reset the password option and generate another email.
  • What if I am unable to complete the steps to activate my new ESI account? If you are not able to complete the steps to set up your new ESI account, please contact an ESI agent at 833.715.0971.
