Celebrating Black History Month

Thursday, February 1, 2024, is the first day of Black History Month, which is an opportunity to highlight the many significant achievements made by Black Americans to our nation’s success.

This year’s Black History Month theme, set by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, is “African Americans and the Arts.” The theme explores the key influence African Americans have had in the fields of “visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary, and other forms of cultural expression.”

We encourage you to use Pulse+ to share your reflections during Black History Month. Please share your thoughts on Black culture, contributions, and achievements. Additionally, you can test your knowledge of Black history with our Pulse+ quizzes. Check Pulse+ each week for a new question. Everyone who answers correctly will be entered into a prize drawing to receive some Cooper swag.
