Code Review Non-ACLS Workshop

This four-hour course is designed to prepare the Non-ACLS certified nurse for a Code Blue or medical crisis situation. The course focuses on a team approach and is geared for nursing as well as medical staff. The first portion of the course reviews how to perform a daily crash cart check, the contents of the carts, primary and secondary ABCD assessment for the non-ACLS individual, the roles of the code team members and how to correctly complete the Code Blue/Code White resuscitation record. The second portion of the course is conducted in the simulation lab. Hands-on crisis situations are created using SimMan. This hands-on portion of the course allows the nurse and the physician to interact utilizing a team approach in crisis or emergent situations. The simulation experience is a purely learning environment. Space is limited in this course so please register early!
