CDU Expansion to Affect Kelemen Circle

We’re pleased to announce the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) expansion project. This project will improve the patient throughput process and enable our teams to operate more efficiently using a care team model for patient care. Please see below for project details and how it may affect you.

  • Project Overview: We’re adding a 5,010 square feet extension and 15 new patient areas to our existing CDU.
  • Purpose: Our current space is operationally undersized for the volume of patients we serve. By reconfiguring and expanding the CDU, we’ll enhance function, compliance, and overall patient experience.
  • Impact: During the project, Kelemen Circle will be temporarily closed. Six parking spots will be available for emergency patient drop-off; all vehicles will be asked to perform a K-turn to exit the circle during the temporary closure. Additionally, the Keleman shuttle stop will be relocated to MLK Blvd. Click here for more details.
  • Timeline: The circle closure is scheduled from Thursday, February 22 to June 2024.

Thank you for your support as we continue to improve the Cooper Patient Experience.
