February 2024 DAISY Award Winner – Ashlee Crowe, RN

Ashlee Crowe, RN, a NICU staff nurse at Cooper University Hospital, was the DAISY Award winner for February 2024. Ashlee’s dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provides to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade.

“She always tries to go above and beyond for her patients. In this case, she served as a primary nurse for a patient who did not have any family involvement. She advocated for this patient with the medical team, leadership, social work, DCP&P and beyond. She provided a lot of things that were falling through the cracks for this patient including consistency, milestone celebrations, memento making, and more. In the end, when it came time to find a proper and suitable placement after discharge, she stepped up and volunteered through DCP&P to care for this patient in her own home until a more suitable caretaker could take over. She and her husband were approved to become a resource family, and the patient was discharged into their care. I have no doubt how much this patient will continue to thrive while in this nurse’s care. She sets an amazing example for humanity in general, as her focus is always on the very best care of her patients in all settings.”
