Operation Backpack Seeks School Supplies for Neighborhood Children

backpackSchool might be just ending for some, so you might be wondering why we are starting early on Operation Backpack. Cooper is teaming up with its new partner, KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy, for this year’s Operation Backpack drive! KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy summer sessions begin their academic year on August 17, 2015.

Our goal is to supply every child in our neighborhood school with a new backpack filled with new school supplies. We are asking that you team up with your co-workers to chip in to divide the costs, buy in bulk, hunt for bargains and get more backpacks for your dollar, all while helping our neighborhood students.

Operation Backpack will provide students Pre-K through 8th grade with all the necessary supplies needed. Last year, more than 300 students received backpacks and school supplies through your generosity.

Here’s how it works. Fill a new backpack with school supplies – pencils, crayons, book sox, pens, markers, scissors, erasers, rulers, glue, notebooks, journals, pencil boxes, folders, sharpeners, calculators, etc.

Drop off new backpacks and school supplies now through Monday, July 20, 2015, at:
• Camden, Cooper University Hospital, Errand Solutions, 1st Floor
• Camden, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, Two Cooper Plaza, 1st Floor Lobby
