Marilyn Cohen, Administrative Director and Patient Care Coordinator of the regional Cleft-Craniofacial Program, is celebrating 45 years at Cooper with a career filled with memorable moments and significant contributions. Through her role at Cooper, she formed national and international relationships in cleft care. Notably, she participated in a rewarding mission trip to Vietnam with Operation Smile in 1990. During this trip, she not only provided humanitarian care but also facilitated the return of MIA remains to the United States — a powerful experience given the influence of the Vietnam War on her generation.
Marilyn also reflects on a family from India whom she counseled after a prenatal diagnosis of cleft lip and palate. Despite the father’s close call on 9/11, the family remained connected with Cooper. Their child, now an adult and an American citizen, thrives in life. Marilyn treasures the privilege of watching children grow and mature over time—a rare opportunity in medicine. These moments provide just a glimpse into her impactful career at Cooper.
Thank you, Marilyn, for your unwavering dedication and the profound influence you’ve made on countless lives. Your remarkable journey at Cooper is an inspiration to us all.
