Cooper Welcomes Optum as New Employee Assistance Program in 2025 

Cooper University Health Care is bringing you a new, modern, flexible employee assistance program (EAP) to support your everyday life. Beginning January 1, 2025, all Cooper team members will have access to the many benefits of Optum Emotional Wellbeing Solutions.

As your new EAP partner, Optum will continue to provide confidential mental wellness and work-life benefits, along with several enhancements for you and your eligible dependents, including:

  • 24/7 Support: Access help anytime at no cost.
  • Counseling Sessions: Six free virtual or face-to-face counseling sessions per year.
  • Behavioral Coaching: Six free virtual behavioral coaching sessions per year.
  • Financial Support: Two free 30-minute sessions with a money coach per issue, per year, plus a 25% discount on tax preparation.
  • Legal and Mediation Assistance: A free 30-minute consult with a local attorney per separate legal issue. Ongoing counsel is available at a 25% discount.
  • Optum Theft ID: Connect with a fraud resolution specialist for free for up to 60 minutes per event.
  • Calm App: Free access to the premium version of Calm, a smartphone app that aids meditation, sleep, and relaxation. Click here for more information.
  • Optum Self-Learning by Uptime: Free, unlimited access to five-minute micro learnings.
  • Optum Well-Being Site: Unlimited access to articles, podcasts, and webinars.
  • Crisis support.
  • Personalized concierge services.
  • Childcare and elder care resources.

What this change means for you:

  • Carebridge and Shore Counseling ceased providing EAP services on December 31, 2024, for Cooper University Health Care team members and their eligible dependents. All EAP authorizations for counseling sessions issued by Carebridge and Shore Counseling expired on December 31, 2024.

You should now call Optum’s dedicated Cooper line at 800.972.8976 for all your EAP needs.

You can view Optum’s provider network directory  to see if your provider also participates in Optum’s network. Visit www.liveandworkwell.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and select “Find a Provider” in the Resources section. Then select the link to the Public Directory and click on “Employer or Individual Plans.” You can filter your search from there.
