FAQs About New Badges – Cooper Camden

Q: Will I be able to use the new badge for parking access?

A: Please review the following:

  • Medical School Garage: Continue to use your stick-on wafer.
  • Garages with decal scanners: Use your new badge with the wafer only for back-up access in the event the scanner does not read your vehicle decal.
  • Other garages and lots: Use your new badge with the wafer as you used your old badge until further notice.

Q: Will the new badges work on the clinical computer tap readers?

A: No, clinical team members must continue using stick-on wafers for the tap readers.

Q: Will we be able to use new pictures on the badges?

A: Not at this time. The badges will display your current photo.

Q: My preferred first name differs from my given first name. Can I have this updated on my new badge?

A:  Please email professionaldesignation@cooperhealth.edu with the request.

Q: Can I keep my special pin on my current badge?

A: No. Please do not penetrate the new badges with any pins as this may damage the internal antenna rendering the card useless.

Q: What should I do with my old badge? Can I keep it?

A: No. Once the new badge has completed a 24-hour Kronos cycle, you are required to hand in your old badge to your manager.

Q: Will I be able to use the new badge for food payment in the cafeteria or cafés?

A: Yes, you will be able to use your new badge with point-of-sale readers within approximately 24 hours of receiving it. On the first day you receive your new badge, you may continue using your old badge for payments.

Q: Will I be able to use the new badge for Kronos?

A: Yes, Kronos will switch to the new badges the day after they are issued; (updates start at 4 a.m.). However, you may need to use your old badge to swipe out at the end of a day shift or to swipe in for an evening/overnight shift.

Q: Which locations will display the team members’ first full name and the first letter of their last name on the new badge?

A: Cooper University Hospital and the licensed ambulatory facilities listed below will default to the first full name and first letter of last name, unless you are a leader, physician, or advanced practice provider (APP).

Q: I do not work at one of the locations listed above. Can my badge display my full first name and only the first letter of my last name?

A: Not at this time. Your badge will continue to display your full first and last name as it does currently.

Q: Will anyone’s badge default to their full first and last name?

A: Yes, leaders, physicians, and APPs will default to displaying their full first and last names, regardless of location. The badges of team members who work at any location other than the licensed facilities in the list above will also default to full first and last names.

Q: What do I do if I work at a location that is defaulting to first full name and the first letter of last name, but I would like my full last name displayed?

A: Please send an email request to badgeroom@cooperhealth.edu. If you already notified professionaldesignation@cooperhealth.edu, you do not need to submit the request again.

Q: I work at multiple locations, how do I know what my primary location is?

A: Access iCooper (Employee Self- Service) and select “My Profile.” Within this section, you will see “location.”

Q: What do I do if my location is incorrect?

A: Please contact your leader.

Q: How can I determine if my professional degree needs to be displayed on my badge?

A: Positions that require the following licenses will include their corresponding professional degree on their badge. If your current badge displays your degree or designation (e.g., MD, DO, PhD), that will remain unchanged.

Q: If I’m in a job that requires my professional degree to be displayed, where can I see the degree that will be on my badge?

A: Access iCooper (Employee Self- Service) and select “My Profile.” Within this section you will see “Professional Credential.”

Q: What do I do if my professional degree is incorrect?

A: Please email professionaldesignation@cooperhealth.edu.

Q: Can I have my certification displayed on my badge?

A: No. At this time, we are not capturing certifications.
