Congratulations to Recent DAISY Award Winner, Jared Vitzthum, BSN, RN

Jared Vitzthum, BSN, RN, a staff nurse from the PACU unit at Cooper University Hospital, was the DAISY Award winner for February 2025. Jared’s dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care he provided to our Cooper patients earned him the following accolade:

“I would like to nominate this nurse as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. This nurse’s clinical skill and compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our team at Cooper recognize as an outstanding nurse who goes above and beyond. He provided excellent care for me as I was recovering from surgery. He kept me informed about everything he was doing. He addressed my concerns when I discovered I had lost feeling and sensation in both hands following the surgery. He reassured me that it could be related to how my body had been positioned on the operating table for the duration of surgery. He has excellent bedside manners and is quite personable. He spoke to me and my family members with care and kindness. I also observed how he offered care to another patient in the unit; he has a sense of humor and is able to multitask. He should be considered as a qualified and competent nurse, with positive can-do motivation. As such he is an asset to your organization and an ambassador that patients can point to when they evaluate the care they received while being a patient at Cooper University Health Care.”
