Call for Nominations: 2025 Armed Forces Person of the Year 

Cooper proudly invites you to nominate a team member for the 2025 Armed Forces Person of the Year. This prestigious recognition honors outstanding individuals from all branches of our nation’s military—Army, Navy, Marine Corps, National Guard, Coast Guard, and Air Force—who have served or continue to serve with unwavering pride, courage, and commitment. Help us recognize these outstanding heroes and all they contribute to the Cooper community by submitting your nomination today.

Criteria for Consideration

  1. The Armed Forces Person of the Year award may be awarded to any Cooper University Health Care team member who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces of the United States.
  2. Team member must have worked a minimum of one year and not be in probationary status at the time of nomination.
  3. Team member has no disciplinary action on file in the 12 months preceding nomination.
  4. Team member must be in good standing with the organization.
  5. Team member should have contributed to the community and/or patient support.
  6. Team member should exemplify Cooper’s core values and standards.

Review and Selection Committee

  1. The committee is multidisciplinary, consisting of nine members.
    • Decision will require a minimum of seven votes.
    • There will be six alternate committee members.

Submission Process

  1. Submit nominations online through Cooper Celebrations.
  2. Nominations should be based on actions and activities consistent with Cooper Values and Strategic Imperatives. For example, support of military activity and event.
  3. Describe why this team member should receive this award and provide specific examples.
  4. Include nominee’s military branch of service in your write-up.

Selection Process

  1. All nominations submitted will be reviewed by the committee.
  2. The committee will evaluate and select the nominations that meet the criteria.
  3. The committee will select one Armed Forces Person of the Year for Cooper Camden and one for Cooper Cape based on the established criteria.
  4. Finalists will be notified.

Recognition Process

Each Armed Forces Person of the Year will receive:

  • A certificate signed by our Co-Presidents/CEOs and their department’s senior management.
  • A Gold Star certificate worth 20,000 medallions to be redeemed on the Cooper Celebrations platform.
  • Armed Forces Person of the Year Award.
  • A recognition celebration.

Recognition on the Pulse, Pulse+, HR Corner, HR News email, Weekly Rounds, Co-CEO Update, Cooper digital boards, and Cooper social media channels (if they consent).
