October Is Physical Therapy Month – Meet Our Team

At Cooper, our physical therapists work in a variety of teams with each team providing treatment focused on a specialty population. Throughout the month of October – Physical Therapy Month — we’ll be highlighting different team members so you can get to know them and understand their role.

carol-strattonCarol Stratton has been the Director of the Cooper Bone and Joint Rehabilitation Services since 2003. She started her career as an athletic trainer and then returned to college to become a Physical Therapist. She graduated from Beaver College (now called Arcadia University).

melissa-szaszMelissa Szasz is a Physical Therapy Assistant and has worked at Cooper since 2011. After her children were in school full time, Melissa returned to college and graduated from Mercer in 2009 as a physical therapy assistant.

Both Carol and Melissa are Certified Lymphedema Therapists and have been working together as a team for more than five years. Their specialty is in oncology, orthopaedics, and trauma patients. They are passionate about their jobs and take pride in patient care. Fitness is a large part of both of their lives. Because of their love for fitness, teaching patients exercises and stretches to use so they have less pain and heal is a big part of why they are inspired to do what they do.
