Research Week Is Now Camden Scholars’ Forum – Today Is the Deadline for Applications

Today, March 3, 2014, is the deadline to submit applications.

Cooper University Health Care and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University presents the Camden Scholars’ Forum. After 15 successful years of Research Week, the organizing committee has revamped the event to accommodate current values and standards for continuing success in the fields of research and improvement.

Starting this year, Research Week is now Camden Scholars’ Forum. Research and Performance Improvement posters will be displayed and the winners will give a short oral presentation. This more closely resembles a national conference poster presentation.

Performance Improvement is the newest poster category that was added this year for the first time. This will include quality improvement, quality assurance and patient safety projects. The important difference is that the submissions in this category will be reviewed for the “intent” of the project. The intent should be aimed at improving local systems of care, not generalizable results.

Performance Improvement projects that will be submitted for poster consideration for the Camden Scholar’s Forum must be discussed with the IRB prior to initiation or collection of data to ensure that the project is not actually research.

Similar to last year, other categories will be Clinical, Basic, Case Study, Medical Student, Allied Health and Nursing Research

Important dates and deadlines to keep in mind:
• Final IRB review and approval deadline is Monday, February 3, 2014.
• Contestant Applications deadline is Monday, March 3, 2014.
• Contestant Abstracts deadline is Thursday, April 3, 2014.
• Camden Scholar’s Forum will begin Monday, April 21, 2014.
• Winner’s Forum will be Thursday, May 8, 2014.

If you have any questions prior to project application submissions, please email researchweek@cooperhealth.edu.

We look forward to your participation and your help in making the Camden Scholars’ Forum a great success.
