Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Each year, in addition to lighting the exterior of Cooper University Hospital in pink, we encourage Cooper University Health Care employees to wear pink to help us raise awareness of breast cancer and to show support for those who are battling the disease.

On Friday, October 26, 2018, all Cooper employees are encouraged to wear pink. On this day only, we allow pink scrub tops to be worn.

Below are a few facts about breast cancer:

  • Nearly one in eight U.S. women develops breast cancer in her lifetime.
  • About 266,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2018.
  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.
  • Screening mammography is the best way to catch breast cancer early, in its most treatable stages.

We encourage everyone to take pictures and send them to socialmedia@cooperhealth.edu.

Show your support for making breast cancer history. Wear pink on Friday, October 26, 2018!
