Wear Your Blue!

On Friday, March 15, 2019, Cooper University Health Care will GO BLUE to recognize Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Employees throughout Cooper are encouraged to wear blue that day to show their support and raise awareness about colorectal cancer screening.

We encourage everyone to share pictures of yourself, your coworkers, or your entire unit or department proudly wearing blue. Photographs can be emailed to socialmedia@cooperhealth.edu or shared on social media with the hashtags #cooperuniversityhealthcare and #GOBLUENJ.

We are partnering with other organizations across the state on the GO BLUE NJ effort to increase awareness of colorectal cancer screening and prevention.

  • More than 106,000 people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year; colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. when men and women are combined.
  • Screening can help detect colorectal cancer at an early stage when treatment is most likely to be successful. In some cases, colorectal cancer can be prevented completely through the detection and removal of precancerous polyps.

Cooper University Hospital will acknowledge National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month with blue lights outside of One Cooper Plaza and in the Roberts Pavilion lobby. The Benjamin Franklin Bridge, The Florio Center for Research, and the new Subaru headquarters building will also join us in turning blue for the month of March!
