New Pilot Program: Patient Photos in Epic

Starting on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Cooper University Health Care will begin a pilot program to capture and store digital pictures of patients, which will be available in their Epic patient medical record. This will be a useful tool to increase personalization of the medical record to enhance patient engagement as well as improve care and reduce the chance of medical error due to misidentification of patients.

Patient photos will be taken during the registration process at the following locations:

  • Healthcare Access – Patient Service Center
  • Ambulatory Operations – Sheridan Pavilion, Suite 104

You may begin to see patient pictures in Epic as early as Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

The project team will be monitoring the pilot program to identify any issues before expanding this to the entire organization.
