Dr. Trzeciak’s Leadership Appointment

Announcing the appointment of Stephen W. Trzeciak, MD, MPH, as Chief of Medicine for Cooper University Health Care and Chair of the Department of Medicine for Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

Dr. Trzeciak earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his Master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, and his fellowship training in critical care medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine, emergency medicine, and neurocritical care.

A National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded clinical researcher, Dr. Trzeciak has more than 100 publications in scientific literature, primarily in the field of resuscitation science. His publications have been featured in some of the most prestigious medical journals, including: Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Circulation, and The New England Journal of Medicine. His scientific program has been supported by research grants from the American Heart Association and the NIH (National Institute of General Medical Sciences and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute), with Dr. Trzeciak serving in the role of Principal Investigator.

Dr. Trzeciak has been a proud member of the Cooper family since 2002. He previously served as the head of critical care medicine at Cooper, beginning in 2013. In his new role, Dr. Trzeciak serves as the medical director for the Adult Health Institute.
