September is Women in Medicine Month. Thank you to Jennifer M. Burg, MD, MS, a thoracic surgeon at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, for sharing her experience as a woman in medicine, and her passion for lung cancer screening.
Lung cancer screenings save lives! You may be eligible for lung cancer screening if you:
- Are 55-80 years of age
- Are a current smoker or former smoker who has quit within the past 15 years
- Have a 30 pack year history of smoking (one pack a day for 30 years or two packs a day for 15 years)
