Three Important Fireworks Safety Tips from Dr. John Porter

Happy Fourth of July weekend! If fireworks and firecrackers are part of your celebrations, Dr. John M. Porter, Head of Cooper’s Division of Trauma Surgery and Director of our Center for Trauma Services, asks you to keep three safety tips in mind:

  • Never allow your children to use fireworks.
  • When you use your own fireworks, make sure they’re outside and never indoors.
  • Avoid using fireworks on a windy day.

Enjoy a lovely holiday season by avoiding unnecessary trips to the Trauma Center or to the Emergency Department! Wishing you a happy holiday from Cooper Trauma.
