Wellness Wednesday: Acting to Eliminate Systemic Racism and Implicit Biases

January 18, 2023 by Cooper University Health Care

Dear colleagues,

Monday, we celebrated MLK Day, which served as an opportunity to reflect on work to eliminate racial injustice and upend class oppression wherever we see it. As we wait for the arc that moves toward justice, remember that we are the ones that facilitate the movement. However, we cannot just wait for hope to eliminate systemic racism and implicit biases – we must act.

Your work every day to support your patients can be one of those opportunities. Cooper and CMSRU has been steadfast in its commitment to and investment in diversity, equity, and inclusion. We have made strides but there is still more to do which takes intention and engagement of our whole community.

You can learn about the history of the civil rights movement and well as more current events in civil rights in the US. You can also get involved with Cooper’s GME Diversity Committee.

Kind regards as always,
GME Wellness Committee
