Antoinette Spevetz, MD, FCCM, FACP, FCCP, was recently honored at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Annual Educational Conference with the ACGME 2023 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Lead Award. Dr. Spevetz is a critical care intensivist and Cooper’s Designated Institutional Official for Graduate Medical Education.
According to the ACGME, the Parker J. Palmer Courage to Lead Award honors designated institutional officials (DIOs) who have demonstrated excellence in overseeing graduate medical education (GME) programs at their sponsoring institutions. DIOs have authority and responsibility for all graduate medical education programs in a teaching hospital, community hospital, or other type of institution that sponsors GME programs.
Since 2009, Dr. Spevetz has been leading the education of Cooper University Hospital’s residents and fellows, preparing them for their future careers.
