Steel beams and construction vehicles will once again enter the Cooper Plaza neighborhood as development plans progress for a 25-unit condominium building on New and 7th streets.
“The Cooper” will provide needed housing for existing Camden residents and for Cooper employees. It will also help create a safe, vibrant neighborhood for people to live and work.
As the anchor institution for the Cooper Plaza neighborhood, Cooper University Hospital has worked with the community to collaboratively plan for a revitalized “Health Sciences Campus and Neighborhood.” Cooper continues to make investments to better serve the people of Camden and to revitalize the community.
The Cooper
“For many years, we have partnered with organizations who believe in our vision to make Camden a better place,” said John P. Sheridan, Jr., President and CEO at Cooper. “We are proud of the achievements thus far. We extend our warm congratulations to Saint Joseph’s Carpenter Society, which now has under way its 22nd historic home rehabilitation in the Cooper Plaza neighborhood.”
Redevelopment in Cooper Plaza has been marked by a spirit of cooperation. M & M Development’s founders and principals, Maria Yglesias and Maria del mar Lopez, have spent hundreds of hours creating open lines of communication with the Cooper Landing Civic Association, Cooper University Hospital and other stakeholders.
“This is urban living at a new level of luxury,” said Mr. Sheridan.
The condominiums are one and two bedrooms with ample living space, modern kitchens and are environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
