On Wednesday, December 8, 2010, the first signs of snow this winter came from The DiFlorio Family Healing Garden at Cooper University Hospital. Glistening snowflakes filled the trees as Cooper’s Trauma Family Support Group hosted a lighting dedication in honor of patients, families, staff and visitors at Cooper.
This year marked the 2nd Annual Snowflake Fundraiser event in which individuals at Cooper could purchase a “snowflake” in honor of someone special or in remembrance of a loved one. Over $3,000 was donated this year, more than twice the amount from last year. All of the money raised will be used to benefit families of trauma patients through various initiatives within the Trauma Department.
Visitors and staff were invited to attend this year’s “Season of Hope” event which featured holiday music and light refreshments. The snowflakes will remain on display in the DiFlorio Family Healing Garden during the holiday season.
