On Saturday, October 15, 2011, an estimated 15,000 people from around the Delaware Valley took part in the 25th Annual AIDS Walk/Run Philly to raise public awareness and money for AIDS research. The event is produced by the AIDS Fund, which supports HIV/AIDS education, prevention and services in the region. AIDS Fund board member Cori McMahon, who is also Director of Behavioral Science at Cooper, has been walking and working the event since 1994.
“It’s a very moving event. People from all walks of life are involved, and it’s one of those times when everyone just accepts one another.”
