Cooper employee John Bishop (Facilities Management, Voorhees campus) is being hailed as a true hero for saving a woman who brutally attacked alongside a busy South Jersey highway last week. Putting his own safety aside and thanks to his quick actions, he was able to rescue the victim and subdue the perpetrator until police could arrive. Police credit him with saving the woman’s life. The entire senior leadership team commends John for his courageous actions! We are proud you are a member of the Cooper family!
Last Thursday afternoon Bishop, 54, was on his way to his home in Burlington Township from his job at Cooper University Hospital when he got off of I-295 onto Route 73 to pick up some chemicals for his pool. Instead, he would end up saving a woman from an attempted sexual assault.
