Cooper University Health Care celebrated the expansion of its women’s and children’s facility in Washington Township with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 17, 2016. The additional space will provide more exam rooms, conference/event space and a more open flow for patient and visitor traffic. It will also allow for expanded evening hours, giving patients more convenient appointment options.

On April 19, more than 100 kindergarteners from the KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy visited Cooper to learn what it’s like to visit the hospital.
The students received a special teddy bear and rotated through five different stations where Cooper clinicians “diagnosed and treated” the bear’s ailment using real tools and equipment. The Teddy Goes to Cooper program was developed to help alleviate young children’s fears of visiting the hospital or doctor and common medical procedures. Read more.
The New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is honoring the memory of those lost in 9/11 with the Safe Citizens Day program. Rachelle A. Greenman, MD, FACEP, Cooper Emergency Medicine physician, is the past president of the NJ Chapter of the ACEP and was instrumental in launching the initiative in 2014. The goal of the day is to make a commitment to being better citizens by teaching, or by learning ways to help ourselves, our families, our friends and our neighbors to survive times of unexpected challenges. The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation, is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. It is presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Each quarter, Cooper will honor a nurse with The DAISY Award. Read more.
