Cooper Kicks-Off Holiday Season with Turkey Donations to Benefit Camden Residents

1,000 Turkeys Were Distributed Through Network of Community Organizations

On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Cooper University Health Care kicked-off the holiday season by donating 1,000 turkeys to community groups, faith-based organizations, and the South Jersey Food Bank to benefit Camden residents. The turkeys were provided to a wide network of community groups for distribution to residents in need in time for Thanksgiving. Cooper Veteran Phil Kenerley Honored With Camden County Medal

On Thursday, November 7, 2019, Cooper Senior Security Officer Phil Kenerley was recognized by the Freeholders of Camden County during the 18th Annual Veterans Medal Award Ceremony for his service to our country. In addition to Phil, 18 other veterans from the Army, Navy, and Air Force were recognized during the ceremony, which was attended by family and friends.

South Jersey Auto Dealer Donates Three Mini Cars for Kids at Cooper University Health

Young Patients Will Ride in Style to the OR – Helping to Relieve Fear and Anxiety

Having surgery can be stressful for anyone, but especially for children.  Thanks to a special donation from Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group, children at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper will now have a new way to relieve some of their stress and anxiety while preparing for surgery. Read more.

Local Non-Profit Donates $30,000 to Cooper

Representatives from Help Women and Children Now, a non-profit organization based in Haddonfield, NJ, visited Cooper University Health Care to present a $30,000 check. This monetary gift will be used to provide cardiac screenings to newborns in Cooper’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The donation represents the proceeds of a youth-run event that was held at the Adventure Aquarium earlier this year. Read more.

Cooper Team Visits University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital to Establish New PICU

A 10- member team from Cooper University Health Care and Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, recently traveled to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla Enugu, to start the initial phase of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. When completed, this will be the first organized Pediatric ICU in Nigeria. On this trip, the team set up the skeletal structure of the PICU and provided training for doctors, nurses, and physiotherpists, who function as Respiratory Therapists. Read more.

Celebration of Life Brings Smiles to Pediatric Trauma Patients, Families, and Cooper Staff

On Saturday, September 14, Cooper celebrated the resiliency and triumphs of pediatric patients who have received care in the pediatric trauma program.  Michael Goodman, MD, Chief and Chairman of Pediatrics, and Nicole Fox, MD, MPH, Pediatric Trauma Medical Director, welcomed guests who then enjoyed a Super Hero themed event with activities for children of all ages and a picnic-style lunch.  Cooper staff enjoyed seeing their prior patients and families from the prior two years.
