More than 200 former patients and family members attended Cooper University Health Care’s “Princesses & Super Heroes” NICU reunion at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, NJ, on Saturday, June 30, 2018. The fun reunion event celebrated babies and their families who have “graduated” from the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit over the past several years. The event highlighted the strides these children have made since being born prematurely or with critical health issues, and the excellent care they received at Cooper. Read more.

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, Cooper urologists Dr. Allen D. Seftel, Head of the Division of Urology at Cooper, and Dr. Ronak Gor, Director of Genitourinary Reconstruction and Trauma at Cooper, presented a free information session on male sexual and urination problems at the Cherry Hill Library Conference Center. This event offered support and education for men who have tried and failed first-line treatments for erectile dysfunction and urine leakage, including a discussion of advanced treatment options for erectile dysfunction for men who have tried pills or other therapies, and men who wear pads due to stress urinary incontinence, possibly following prostate cancer treatment. WHAT: More than 90 doctors, nurses, administrative leaders, and allied health professionals from Cooper University Health Care will fan out across eight different sites in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester counties for a day of community service. Cooper employees will work in community gardens, prepare meals at the Cathedral Kitchen, help out at an animal shelter, and organize donations at a food pantry among others. Read more.

Tools equip new parents with CPR and choking relief skills to use in emergencies.

The American Heart Association (AHA) with the support from the Amerigroup Foundation has donated 500 Infant CPR Anytime® kits to Cooper University Health Care for use in training new parents on emergency lifesaving techniques. Cooper will provide the Infant CPR Anytime kits to parents whose babies are discharged from the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and will be the first hospital in New Jersey to offer the Infant CPR Anytime training on their telehealth patient portal. American Heart Association Award Recognizes Cooper University Hospital’s Commitment to Quality Stroke Care

Cooper University Health Care received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines^®-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke^SM Honor Roll. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence. UPDATE: Due to weather, construction will begin on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, and continue through Friday, June 22, 2018 near the Kelemen Circle on the health sciences campus of Cooper University Health Care in Camden. MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper has joined a Lung Cancer Early Detection study aimed at improving lung cancer screening methods for those at risk. The study is part of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Moon Shots Program^TM, a collaborative effort to accelerate advances that save patients’ lives.

Five members of the Cooper University Hospital EMS team were honored by the Camden County Metro Police Department for heroic work during an incident that occurred in March. The quarterly award presentation took place at Rowan University’s Camden campus and was presided over by NBC 10’s news anchor Vai Sikahema.

The event was dedicated to recognizing  first responders and other organizations who performed in cooperation with Camden County Police. Read more.

More than 70 students from HB Wilson Elementary School in Camden, NJ, visited Cooper University Health Care on May 30, 2018, to take part in the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper’s Pediatric Health Fair. The event teaches  kids healthy habits at a young age.
