Cooper Heart Institute Team Performs TAVR Procedure Using Conscious Sedation

A team of cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists and anesthesiologists at the Cooper Heart Institute recently achieved a medical milestone by performing transcatheter aortic valve replacement, or TAVR, under conscious sedation for the first time. Since then, the team has successfully performed several additional cases using this method.

AmeriHealth New Jersey Expands Co-Branded Product Offering With Two Additional South Jersey Hospitals

AmeriHealth New Jersey has expanded its co-branded product offering with Cooper University Health Care to include Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center. The addition of Shore and Cape has expanded the product’s reach to also include Atlantic and Cape May counties, hence the plan’s new name: “Community Advantage.”

The initial co-branded product offering from AmeriHealth New Jersey and Cooper, called Cooper Advantage, became available in October 2013 and enrolled more than 11,500 members in the first six months. Read more.

This October, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper marked the anniversary of the opening of the new cancer center and our partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. On Tuesday, November 4, 2014 physicians, nurses, staff, executive leadership and patients gathered in the lobby of the cancer center in Camden to recognize the occasion and celebrate the many achievements of the past year.
