Cooper University Health Care and Deborah Heart and Lung Center Honored by New Jersey Hospital Association for Developing Innovative Program Serving Active Military and Veterans

Cooper University Health Care in Camden and Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills were honored today by the New Jersey Hospital Association with the 2018 Community Outreach Award. The organizations were recognized in the category of enhancing access and quality of care to reduce disparities for developing HeroCare Connect, an innovative program to increase access to health care for veterans, active military, and their families. Two Health Systems Join Forces to Increase and Expedite Access to Specialty Health Care for Military and Veterans

Cooper University Health Care and Deborah Heart and Lung Center announced today that the two health systems have joined forces to launch HeroCare Connect, a new service to provide convenient and expedited access to quality specialty health care for local active duty military, retirees, veterans, and their families. Military patients who are referred for specialty care will be able to see a specialist within 24 to 48 hours. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Announces “Same-Day Service” for Veterans as Part of “Cooper Veterans VIP Priority” Program

Today, area veterans joined with Cooper University Health Care to announce the new “Cooper Veterans VIP Priority” program that promises same day service for area veterans seeking primary care, as well as dedicated health professionals to assist them with their overall healthcare needs. The program will serve veterans in the seven southern New Jersey counties. It is believed the Cooper program is the first in the nation to guarantee same day primary care to veterans.
