During the month of February, Cooper University Health Care will celebrate the Go Red for Women movement and American Heart Month – reminding us all of the importance of committing to a heart-healthy lifestyle.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States in both men and women – accounting for 1 in 7 deaths each year.
The good news is that there are small and sustainable steps you can take to improve your heart health. Following the American Heart Association’s Life’s Simple 7 list can help you get started:
- Manage blood pressure
- Control cholesterol
- Reduce blood sugar
- Get active
- Lose weight
- Stop smoking

On Friday, February 9, 2018, Cooper is observing National Wear Red Day® to increase awareness, prevention, and treatment of heart disease and stroke among women.
Don’t forget to wear red!
We will have a table with information and give-aways at several locations:
- Cooper Court Cafeteria (outside of the cafeteria)
- CCBO (2nd floor)
- In the cardiology practices
Send photos of yourself, your coworkers, or your entire unit/department proudly wearing red on Friday, February 9, 2018, to socialmedia@cooperhealth.edu.
