Safety Tips and Information

For your safety, we want to provide you with some personal safety tips and information to help protect you during the holiday season and winter months when it gets dark earlier in the evening.

Recently, there was an incident in one of our parking garages with someone who did not belong there. No one was physically harmed in this incident, but it is a reminder that such incidents can happen anywhere. Therefore, we ask that if you see something suspicious, you say something to keep everyone safe.

Here are more safety tips for you:

  • On our Camden campus, report suspicious activity to Security at 856.342.2400. Please save this number in your cell phone to have it readily available.
  • At all other Cooper locations, please call 911 to report suspicious activity.
  • Walk with others to and from buildings and stay in lighted areas.
  • Always be alert and aware of your surroundings.
  • When walking alone don’t be distracted by your phone or wear earphones.
  • Know locations of emergency telephones (Click here for a campus map).
  • Request an escort from Security.
  • Park in well-lit areas.
  • Lock your car doors once inside.
  • Don’t leave valuables or gifts visible in your car.

Security Officers and Camden County Sherriff Officers patrol the hospital and campus around the clock. Additionally, our Security team is assessing safety at all of our ambulatory locations.

If you have any security questions or concerns, you can contact our Security Command Center 856.342.2400 or 100-2400 (from inside the hospital).

Have a safe and happy holiday season!
